Join/Renew
New members can join Farnborough and District u3a at any time of the year.
The subscription year is from 1st August to 31st July
For individual members, the subscription fee includes a £4.00 membership fee paid to the national u3a organisation, the Third Age Trust (TAT), which provides a wide range of services and benefits, including our liability insurance cover.

*If applying for Associate Membership, please remember to submit evidence of your membership with the other u3a.
**By purchasing the Third Age Trust Magazine, ‘u3a Matters’ you automatically consent to your data being shared with the company that oversees the distribution of the Third Age Trust Magazine. You can cancel your subscription and request your data not to be used for direct postal mailing of Third Age Trust Magazine at any time by contacting the Membership Secretary via the ‘Contacts’ page of the Farnborough & District u3a website. Please note that we are unable to credit you for any unused part of your subscription.
***The Farnborough and District u3a newsletter is produced 3 times a year. It is usually sent to members by email.
How To Join
Please follow the guidance below to email or post the New Member form to the Membership Secretary.
- Open the New Member form (see link below)
- Complete it online
- Save it to your computer
- Email it as an attachment to the Membership Secretary (membership@u3afarnborough.org.uk)
- The secretary will send you the bank details to enable you to make a bank transfer to the Farnborough & District u3a.
- When the payment has been received, a membership card will be emailed to you, which you can print or save on your phone.
Alternatively
- Download the New Member form (see link below)
- Print it, fill it in and send it to the address on the form.
- The Membership Secretary will send you the bank details to enable you to make a bank transfer to the Farnborough and District u3a.
- When the payment has been received, a membership card will be emailed to you, which you can print or save on your phone.
- If you are unable to pay by bank transfer, please enclose a cheque with the form.
- Please include a stamped addressed envelope if you want a printed membership card posted to you. Otherwise it will be emailed for you to print or save to your phone.

How to Renew
- You will receive a renewal request and form from the Membership Secretary by post or email in July
- You only need to complete and return the form if there is a change to your personal details
- If you are able, please pay by bank transfer
- If not, please send a cheque to the address on the renewal request
- Please send a stamped addressed envelope to the Membership Secretary if you want a printed membership card posted to you. Otherwise it will be emailed for you to print or save to your phone.
Note: Please include your Surname and Membership Number with all payments.
As Group Leaders are now able to add or remove members from their lists using Beacon, please contact the relevant Group Leader if you would like to update your choices. You can do this from the Groups page on this website (if you have an email address), or you can do it yourself through the Beacon portal below.
Choosing, Joining or Leaving a Group
Information on all the groups, including where and when they meet, is available from the Groups page on this website.
You can contact the Group Leader by emailing directly from the group's page to ask if there is space for you to join them. They will respond directly to you.
Or
You can apply to join or leave a group via the Beacon portal (if you haven't yet registered, you will need to do so first - see link below).
Beacon will notify the relevant Group Leader of your interest in the group (or intention to leave), and the leader will respond directly to you.
